Asset Manager – Renewable Energy - Canberra, ACT
About the RoleWe are seeking an Asset Manager to oversee the operational, technical, commercial, and compliance performance of renewable energy assets, with a strong focus on battery energy storage systems (BESS). The role is responsible for maximising asset value through safe, reliable, and effective operations while managing stakeholders, contractors, risks, and financial performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operation and performance of renewable energy and BESS assets.Oversee O&M; contractors and service providers to ensure contractual and performance obligations are met.Monitor asset performance, availability, revenue, compliance, and operational risks.Support asset handover, operational readiness, and transition activities for new projects.Manage budgets, forecasting, cost control, and operational reporting.Ensure compliance with market, regulatory, environmental, and contractual requirements.Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including network operators, market bodies, contractors,



and landowners.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise asset performance and reduce operating costs.Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture across all assets.
Skills & ExperienceDegree qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.Experience managing renewable energy, BESS, or infrastructure assets.Knowledge of asset operations, maintenance, and contractor management.Understanding of the Australian electricity market, AEMO requirements, and compliance obligations.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and contract administration.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.Familiarity with SCADA, CMMS, and asset management systems.Ability to work independently within a structured governance framework.
