About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Casual Disability Support Worker to join the team at Recruit, Connect & Care. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. As a Casual Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential support to clients, helping them maintain independence, develop life skills and participate fully in their communities. This role is crucial to our mission of delivering quality, person-centred care and support services.
What you'll be doing
Assisting clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing and meal preparationSupporting clients to access community facilities, social activities and recreational opportunitiesHelping clients develop and maintain life and social skills through structured support and encouragementProviding emotional support and companionship whilst maintaining skilled boundariesAssisting with household management tasks, including cleaning, shopping and errandsMonitoring and reporting on clients' wellbeing, health and any changes in their conditionMaintaining accurate and timely documentation of support provided and client progressWorking collaboratively with other team members and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent, coordinated careRespecting client dignity, privacy and rights in all interactions and support provisionAdhering to all health and safety protocols, policies and procedures
What we're looking for
A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and commitment to person-centred careExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clientsPhysical capability to assist clients with mobility and daily activities, including manual handling where requiredReliability and punctuality, with the ability to manage a flexible, casual scheduleThe ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a supportive environmentA current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
and clear police clearanceCurrent first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain these qualifications)Empathy, patience and a non-judgmental approach to supporting people from diverse backgroundsProblem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to individual client needs and changing circumstancesRelevant qualifications in disability support, aged care or health services (preferred but not essential; training will be provided)
