Legeneering is an established Western Australian engineering and fabrication company delivering specialist services across the Defence, Marine, Energy and Industrial sectors.

Operating from our Henderson production facilities, our team supports major projects involving marine mechanical installation, vessel construction and sustainment, rotating equipment, piping systems, fabrication and complex mechanical works.

As our Defence, Marine & Industrial Services portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced supervisor capable of leading our people and supporting the successful delivery of current and future projects.

The role

Reporting to the Project Manager or designated operational leader, as the Supervisor you will be responsible for the frontline supervision and coordination of mechanical activities.

Your responsibilities may include:

- Leading and supervising mechanical and marine tradespeople.

- Planning and coordinating daily work fronts, labour and priorities.

- Conducting pre-starts, toolbox meetings and workforce briefings.

- Reviewing drawings, specifications, work packs and project requirements before execution.

- Coordinating mechanical installation, vessel construction, sustainment and maintenance activities.

- Monitoring productivity, progress, constraints and emerging project risks.

- Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

- Working closely with Project Managers to identify labour, access, material, tooling and schedule requirements.

- Coordinating with clients, other contractors, quality personnel and project stakeholders.

- Ensuring inspections, quality documentation and project records are completed correctly.

- Coaching tradespeople and developing workforce capability.

- Maintaining transparent communication between the workforce, project management and client representatives.





- Taking ownership of issues and driving practical solutions to keep work moving.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification or equivalent.

- Demonstrated experience supervising mechanical tradespeople in marine, defence, shipbuilding, heavy industrial, energy or similar project environments.

- Solid frontline leadership and people-management capability.

- Experience coordinating multiple work fronts and competing priorities.

- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work packs and technical documentation.

- Strong understanding of mechanical installation, rotating equipment or marine systems.

- A practical understanding of project schedules, labour productivity, quality requirements and cost awareness.

- Strong safety leadership and commitment to quality workmanship.

- Clear communication skills and the confidence to work directly with project managers, clients and tradespeople.

- Current Australian driver's licence.

Experience in marine propulsion, shaft lines, driveline installation, equipment alignment, vessel construction or naval sustainment will be highly regarded.

We are not looking for someone who simply allocates work and monitors the clock.

- Communicate problems early and bring practical solutions.

- Understand the balance between safety, quality, schedule and commercial performance.
