Position: Early Childhood Teacher at St Peter's Preschool Tamworth

A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education is required for this position.

Current teacher registration with NESA is essential for this role.

A minimum of 3+ years early childhood teaching experience is preferred.

The ECT must be aware of and ensure at all times that paramount consideration of the rights, safety and wellbeing of all children is the focus of all decision-making.

Ability to align with the Christian philosophy of our preschool is essential.

Full / Part time: Part time – 3 days per week

Remuneration: Above award rate

Responsible to: Nominated Supervisor / Director of St Peter's Preschool Tamworth Inc. and the Management Committee as the Approved Provider

Essential Selection Criteria:

In all recruitment and employment at St Peter’s Preschool Tamworth, child safety and wellbeing is at the core. Any potential applicant must articulate their own commitment to and understanding of child safety including the Child Safe Standards and recent reforms in child safety.

- ACECQA approved Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching qualification or equivalent (See www.acecqa.gov.au/qualifications/nqf-approved)

- Demonstrate their commitment to child safety

- Current Working with Children Check

- Current First Aid, anaphylaxis and asthma management and CPR qualification

- Registration / proof of accreditation with NESA

- Current Child Protection training (preferably CHCPRT 025)

- Evidence of completion of Foundation of Child Safety Training

- Completed Prohibited Persons Declaration

- Acknowledgement and understanding of the St Peter’s Preschool philosophy including:

o An active understanding of and support of the Christian outreach of St Peter’s Preschool

o Ability to align with the Christian ethos of St Peter’s Preschool.

- Participate in an induction process upon joining the service

- Demonstrate understanding of and have experience in the Early Years Learning Framework (V2.0)

- Demonstrate experience in curriculum development and documentation of children’s learning.

- An ability to align with each individual child’s learning.

- Maintain a safe environment for children including adhering to the Child Safe Standards

- Have a passion for play based, child led learning

- Be a part of and have input into the day to day running of the Preschool.

Desirable criteria:

- Willingness to be appointed as a responsible person / person in day to day charge in the nominated supervisor’s absence

- To have experience in leadership

- To hold a current National Police Check in NSW

- Have viewed the forwarded policies relating to child safety and wellbeing.

Job summary:

The Early Childhood Teacher at St Peter’s Preschool Tamworth is responsible for leading the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational programs that are child focused and support play-based learning for all children in accordance with the National Quality Framework.

They must ensure that the curriculum reflects the St Peter’s Preschool philosophy as well as ensuring they adhere to the following service documents:

- The St Peters’ Preschool Tamworth Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

- The St Peters’ Preschool Tamworth Child Safe Code of Conduct.
