POSITION SUMMARY

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Belmont Youth Service as Arche Health looks to integrate this new service with our existing programs to young people in the Belmont region. Liaising with the City of Belmont, Arche Health Administration, education facilities and local community services you will lead a team that provides a safe, inclusive location for young people aged between 11 and 25. Support will be provided as they transition through different life stages, from Primary to Secondary School and then from school into either further study, the workforce and living independently. The ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable young people will be key to ensuring that this exciting project builds on current foundations and provides individualised supports to a vulnerable cohort within our community. This role will ensure that the Belmont Youth Service is not only a place of safety, inclusion and joy but also a source of support as required and accurate, non-judgemental information as the young people face lifes challenges.

Post transition this role will ensure that assertive outreach takes place to the local community, that relationships and referral pathways are established with a wide circle of local community services and that in particular the services of Arche Health (Including Headspace, Aboriginal Health, etc) are fully engaged and optimised for the cohort of young people accessing the Belmont Youth Service.

Leadership of the team will include ensuring that rostering is appropriate,



that education and activities are balanced across the 6 domains and that Arche Health policies and procedures are in place and being adhered to.

- Green and Growing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide leadership, and management to the Belmont Youth Service.

2. Ensure that reporting requirements are met through the achievement of service targets and prepare reports as required by the primary funder.

3. Raise issues promptly with Arche Health Leadership.

4. Promote the Belmont Youth Service using channels that will reach the target cohort.

5. Ensure that appropriate staff are rostered on, that appropriate professional development and training opportunities have been accessed and that staff feel supported.

6. Lead the development of activities, education sessions and programs that meet the needs of the target cohort and the 6 domains noted above.

7. Ensure that the Belmont Youth Service is a safe and inclusive facility for all people aged between 11 and 25, regardless of gender, race, sexuality, religion, disability or any other factor.

8. Manage demand for programs and services and determine the most effective distribution of employees to ensure successful delivery of programs.

9. Represent Bentley Youth Service and Arche Health at internal and external meetings, provide support, share information and training, and actively participate in promotion of the services.

10. Work collaboratively with other program managers of Arche Health to create service links and warm referrals enabling easier and stronger client access and greater utilisation of Arche Health service offerings.

11. Ensure that Arche Health policies and procedures are in place, monitored and adhered to at all times.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partner agencies and other stakeholders to ensure the effective coordination and delivery of high quality interventions, services and programs for clients and establish referral pathways;

13. Oversee administrative duties as required.

14. Attend scheduled meetings.

15. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing administrative processes and procedures, and provide recommendations to improve efficiency;

16. Ensure Case Management for most vulnerable clients is undertaken, tailored for each client, documented appropriately and that engagement with external providers is done so with clients documented consent.

17. Other duties as required.

SELECTION CRITERIA – QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE

Essential

1. Relevant experience working in a community service environment;

2. Demonstrated project/program management experience, including working knowledge and understanding of program administration, planning, implementation and reporting, ideally in a not for profit setting.

3. Demonstrated health promotion qualifications and/or experience;

4. Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, including proficiency in written and oral communications;

5. Ability to build rapport, establish links and support vulnerable young people of all walks of life.

6. Demonstrated experience forming and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders;

7. Ability to work as part of a team, as well as self-motivated to work autonomously, plus demonstrated performance management skills;

8. High level of computer skills.

9. Driver’s license and own vehicle;

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualification in health promotion, community services or related discipline;

2. Knowledge and understanding of the Privacy Act.
