The Director of Information Technology provides a high level of governance, technical expertise and service, directly and by leading a team, to facilitate development, implementation, administration, maintenance and support of systems, applications and services to meet the information technology and digital needs of the College.

The Director of Information Technology is to direct and manage the College’s Information and Communications Technology strategic plans, business and finance systems, management and community information services and network communications.

The Director of Information Technology is expected to lead and coordinate the College’s digital strategy and technology and infrastructure roadmaps and take responsibility for the direction and efficient operations of Information Technology.

The Director of Information Technology is part of the College Leadership Team and works under the direction of the Principal via the Chief Operating Officer to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services to all areas of Loreto College. The Director of Information Technology reports to the College Principal.

- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain technical elements of IT systems and applications

- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot system, network, and security issues

- Demonstrated ability in project management

- Demonstrated ability to methodically dismantle problems and isolate causes

- Demonstrated ability to investigate systems and develop understanding

Personal Qualities

- Ability to demonstrate initiative, drive and a strong sense of professionalism

- Ability to innovate, lead and inspire all stakeholders within an ICT setting





- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, that can be used effectively with staff, students, and parents

- Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive information in a professional and confidential manner

- Demonstrated planning, organisation and time management skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills underpinned by the Loreto values

Essential Qualifications

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in a similar role within an educational setting will be highly regarded

- Familiarity with at least three of the following services/skills is essential:

- Microsoft platform (AD, DHCP, DNS, GPOL, SCCM, etc).

- Cisco and/or Aruba networking

- VMware/ESXi/Hyper-V or similar virtualisation platform

- Fortinet or similar NGFW

- Approved first aid training

- Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificate

Application Details

The position is a permanent full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week for 52 weeks per year. Some flexibility will be required for events outside of business hours. The position commences on 3 August 2026.

- Approved first aid training

- Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care certificate

- All applicants will be required to undergo a Working with Children Check and Catholic police clearance
