We are partnering with an established passenger transport operator to appoint an experienced Workshop Manager to lead their maintenance operations in Kyneton. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced heavy vehicle qualified to take ownership of fleet reliability, workshop performance, and team leadership within a safety-focused transport environment.

About The Role

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the Workshop Manager will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the maintenance workshop, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable servicing, repair, and upkeep of a heavy vehicle fleet. You will lead a team of maintenance professionals, coordinate workshop activities, drive continuous improvement, and ensure fleet availability meets operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate workshop operations, maintenance activities, and daily priorities
- Manage, coach, and support a team of maintenance personnel
- Oversee servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs
- Ensure fleet reliability, compliance, and operational readiness
- Monitor workshop performance, productivity, and quality standards
- Manage safety practices and ensure WHS compliance across the workshop




- Maintain accurate maintenance records and fleet documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and workshop performance
- Liaise with operations teams to prioritise repairs and minimise vehicle downtime

About You

- Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent
- Proven experience managing or supervising a heavy vehicle workshop environment
- Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance systems and workshop practices
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing maintenance teams
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
- Current driver’s licence (heavy vehicle experience highly regarded)
