The North West Neurological Support Service provides advanced clinical leadership and clinical care for individuals living in the community with Parkinson’s disease and related neurological conditions. This position works with a high level of autonomy within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence‑based, person‑centred care within the community, primary health, and residential aged care setting in the north west of Tasmania.

Role

We are looking for motivated individuals passionate about supporting clients with Parkinson’s and related neurological conditions. In addition to providing support to those living with Parkinson’s Disease, this position leads and provides education to professionals, community members, and organisations and coordinates multidisciplinary care to ensure continuity, integration, and best outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do

- Work autonomously, operating at a high level of professional independence and functioning consistently at a high skilled level.
- Communicate effectively and build strong professional relationships with clients, carers, community health providers, and members of the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Provide specialist education and support to clients, carers, community members, and professionals.

Details of Appointment

- Fixed‑term, part‑time day‑worker position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight, from 27 September 2026 until 25 September 2027 (hours to be negotiated with successful applicant).
- During the first twelve months from publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‑time, part‑time or casual vacancies.

Salary & Perks

Salary range: $118,297 to $125,543 per annum (pro‑rata).



Employer superannuation contribution is 12% on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Post‑graduate allowance may be available up to 10% based on qualification type. Salary packaging may include living expenses up to $9,010, meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year, and other benefits if eligible.

- Travel and relocation assistance: up to $15,000 for overseas appointees and up to $10,000 for interstate appointees.

Eligibility

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
- Current driver’s licence.

Desirable: Hold or be working towards a relevant nursing tertiary qualification or a post‑graduate tertiary qualification.
