About AgVantage Commodities

AgVantage Commodities is a fully independent agricultural cropping commodity broker, dealing grains, oilseeds, pulses/legumes, and cotton lint on behalf of farmers, traders, and consumers across Australia. Based in Narrabri, NSW, we've built our reputation on real-time market intelligence and transparent dealing since 2008.

We've taken that further with the AgVantage Marketplace, our digital platform that lets buyers and sellers communicate bids and offers in one transparent place, giving every participant in the supply chain a clearer view of the market and the confidence to make better-informed decisions.

We're a small, independent team, and we like it that way. Here, you're treated as a person, not an employee number, and you'll have a genuine hand in how we service our clients and grow the business.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an energetic, commercially minded person with a keen interest in commodity markets, agriculture, analytics, and customer service to join us as a Commodity Broker. You'll build and service your own client base, brokering grains, oilseeds, pulses/legumes, and cotton lint on behalf of farmers, traders, and consumers.

This is a role for someone genuinely motivated by sales and service, who is both customer, and company-centric, and who wants to build a career at the intersection of agriculture, markets, and technology. A desire to help scope and develop digital solutions to commodity trading is warmly welcomed, given the central role our Marketplace platform plays in how we do business.

Flexible Structure - Multiple Locations

This is a full-time role, and we're expanding our geographic reach. Alongside our Narrabri head office,

we're looking to fill Grain and Cotton Broker roles across QLD, Central/Southern NSW, VIC, SA, and WA.

We offer flexibility in how you join us. These roles can be structured either as an employee of AgVantage, or under a franchise-style model, where you essentially run your own business with the full support of AgVantage behind you - our branding, website, internal CRM and brokering systems, back-office support, and the AgVantage Marketplace. When you're away or on leave, you can simply divert your phone to our Narrabri head office, so your clients are always looked after.

Powered by Technology

AgVantage runs on a purpose-built Salesforce CRM, giving you a genuine edge over brokers still working off spreadsheets and multiple data points.

• A single system tracks every Account, Contact, Offer, Bid, Stock, and Trade, synced in real time with the AgVantage Marketplace.

• Reach clients via Phone, email, SMS, or WhatsApp, all logged automatically, with AI built in to help you work faster and smarter.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Analysis - of micro and macroeconomic events, and how they influence financial and agricultural markets.

• Research and Analysis - of agricultural commodity markets to support accurate, timely price discovery.

• Compiling your research and analysis into regular market reports and distributing them to clients.

• Client Relationship Management - Building and maintaining client relationships through phone calls and face-to-face meetings.

• Negotiation and Sales - Negotiating commodity contracts between buyers and sellers, with close attention to detail.

• Customer Service - Ensuring our clients' needs are met at every stage of the trade.

About You

• A keen interest in commodity markets, agriculture, analytics, and customer service.

• Motivated and driven, with a sales-oriented and service-first mindset.

• Customer and company-centric in how you approach your work.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with an eye for detail.

• An interest in digital trading tools and how technology can improve the customer experience, a plus, not a requirement.

• Experience in grain and/or cotton, agricultural commodities, or agribusiness is well regarded, but attitude and drive matter more than a resume.

• For the franchise-style option - an entrepreneurial mindset and the drive to build and run your own regional client base and business.

Why AgVantage

• Be part of an exciting, dynamic industry where markets, agriculture, and technology meet.

• Join a small company where you're treated as a person, not an employee.

• Have a genuine say in how we service our clients and grow the business.

• Choose the structure that suits you - join as an employee or run your own franchise-style business backed by our brand, modern systems, and back-office support.

• Opportunities across QLD, Central/Southern NSW, VIC, SA, and WA, alongside our Narrabri head office at the heart of NSW's cropping region.

How to Apply

If you'd like to be part of a agile industry, within a small company where you're treated as a person and not an employee, and believe your attributes align, contact Steve Dalton for a confidential discussion.
