Role Overview

Full‑time, fixed‑term for 12 months. Department: Enterprise Performance Group. Portfolio: UOM 9 – $143,185 – $148,972p.a. plus 17% super. The role drives university‑wide transformation, influences senior leadership and shapes organisational culture. A flexible hybrid work environment is available.

About the Role

The Change and Communications Lead will design and execute transformative initiatives that have institution-wide impact. Key responsibilities include developing change strategies, managing stakeholder engagement, and driving adoption of new ways of working.

Responsibilities

- Strategy Development – create and implement comprehensive change management strategies aligned with university objectives.
- Discipline Leadership – guide and advise project team members on change management issues, risks and opportunities, coaching them about the impact of the change lens.
- Stakeholder Management – engage and influence diverse stakeholders, ensuring buy‑in and addressing concerns throughout change processes.
- Communication Leadership – develop and execute communication plans to keep the university community informed and engaged.
- Team Leadership – manage and develop change management professionals, providing guidance and oversight to direct reports.
- Impact Assessment – conduct thorough analyses of change impacts on processes, systems and people, developing mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

- Relevant tertiary qualification with at least 3years of change management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of change management methodologies and best practices.
- Experience providing strategic advice and support to senior executives.
- Strong skills in developing communication strategies across various channels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a quick‑paced environment.




- Experience managing multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in change practices.
- Adaptability and creativity in applying change management approaches.
- Experience in higher education or similarly complex organisations (desirable).
- Excellent analytical skills for impact assessments and data‑driven decision‑making.
