- Remuneration: $122,852 to $134,385 per annum (inclusive of $103,811 to $113,557 salary, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
- Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)

Career Educator – Learning and Teaching Unit

The Career Educator is responsible for providing timely and targeted services and strategies to support the career development and employability of all students, enabling connections with industry.

Responsibilities

- Work in partnership with SSTA Strategic Leads and Managers, STEM Educators, Language and Learning Educators and other Career Educators across faculties to contribute to SSTA strategic priorities including:
- Student partnership and peer programs
- Industry engagement, professional identity development and work integrated learning (WIL) support
- Curriculum planning and resource development
- Student success and retention
- Learner experience and evaluation
- University-wide initiatives such as Orientation

Qualifications and Experience

- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree in a field related to career development practice, with at least four years’ experience in line with Australian Career Development Practitioner's Professional Standards.
- Proven experience in promoting and teaching strategies for career development and employability in physical (face‑to‑face) and virtual environments.
- Understanding of issues affecting adult career development, retention and success in higher education, and a commitment to a social justice framework.
- Ability to work closely with a diverse range of student,



staff and industry stakeholders at all levels and from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to operate in a team, coordinating career development and industry-facing programmes, projects and initiatives, and to respond flexibly to rapidly changing educational situations.
- Highly effective written, verbal and digital communication skills, facilitation and presentation expertise, and ability to create high-quality, engaging digital learning resources.
- Commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
