About The Role

We are looking for an Asset Health Technician to provide technical assistance, support, and expert advice on continuous improvement practices on a day-to-day basis to execute condition-based inspection strategies for our Tom Price operations. This is a great chance for an experienced candidate with excellent diagnostic and fault-finding abilities and is looking to step into a role where they can showcase their technical knowledge while also collaborating with functional partners and stakeholders to improve plant performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

- Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures
- Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
- Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties including coach and mentor relevant partners in the requirements of effective NDT and condition-based strategy execution, and mentor new and trainee AH technicians
- Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to Fixed Plant Maintenance




- Safely execute routine and unplanned structural and condition-based maintenance activities on fixed plant assets, using specialised techniques such as vibration and oil analysis, along with ultrasonic, orbit, phase and resonance testing
- Accurately report all completed inspections using approved reporting formats and templates, including SAP, and responsible for ensuring data is maintained accurately in the relevant databases
- Monitor, track and trend identified defects to ensure risks are adequately understood and mitigated with RTIO standard instrumentation

Qualifications

- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Computer Literacy (SAP Experience, Microsoft Suite)
- Sound written and verbal communications skills
- Understanding of Work Mgt, maintenance and asset health processes
- Self-motivation and able to work safely and independently
- A current Western Australia “C” Class Driver’s Licence
- Mechanical Trade qualification and/or reliability engineering background
- Experience using MHM
- Level 2 Certification in Vibration Analysis

Where you’ll be working

Tom Price is located in the central Pilbara region, west of Karijini National Park. It is our original Pilbara mine, currently employing residential and fly‑in fly‑out employees. It is known as one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, two primary schools, a hospital and a high standard of recreational facilities.
