This is a National Design Consultant role with McDonald's based in Thornleigh, NSW, AU.
Job Overview
McDonald’s Australia is the largest quick service restaurant operation in the country and is seeking an additional National Design Consultant to join the National Development Group. The role involves creating innovative concepts for new restaurants and reinvestment projects while ensuring national store standards evolve and remain best‑in‑class.
Responsibilities
- Designing and delivering concept drawings for recent restaurant builds and reinvestment projects, ensuring alignment with operational and brand standards.
- Translating Australian Standards, planning requirements, and construction codes into practical and compliant design solutions.
- Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, external architects, consultants, and suppliers to bring projects to life.
- Influencing and guiding design outcomes by reviewing consultant work and ensuring consistency with McDonald’s national standards.
- Contributing to sustainable and scalable building solutions that support environmental commitments.
- Analyzing cost data and project insights to inform value‑driven design decisions.
- Representing the National Development Group in cross‑functional forums and external meetings as required.
- Refining and improving design templates, documentation, and standards to support continuous improvement.
- Reviewing and evaluating completed projects to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with expectations.
Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture (registration preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an architectural consultant/designer, including 3 years in Class 6 buildings.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Suite.
- Strong communication, proactive and committed to excellence.
