Position Overview

This is Fixed Term Part Time appointment commencing September 2026 until 28/06/2027 at 38 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

The Older Adult Health Hubs are a new model of care, providing safe and quality care for older adults through integrated, community-based intervention. This specialist-led older adult hub delivers and integrates with services that focus on proactive and responsive care, risk prediction and early intervention.

SMHS Older Adult Health Hub

- Optimises older adult independence through maintaining and improving function, growing health literacy, supporting choice autonomy and scaffolding and supporting carers
- Provides coordinated, comprehensive multidisciplinary care
- Supports liaison between primary care and SMHS services

SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3,300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.

Position Description

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Senior Dietitian plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates Dietetic services to patients in the South Metropolitan OAH Hub using advanced Dietetic clinical practice skills. Plans, implements and evaluates patient safety and quality of care.



Practices as a Senior Dietitian and ensures practice is in accordance with the Dietitians Australia National Competency Standards for Entry Level Dietitians and SMHS policies and guidelines.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).
