Team
Ward 6D is a 32‑bed medical and stroke unit where the team provides quality and safe care and works within the CARE values of the organisation. The leadership team consists of the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, Associate Nurse Unit Manager and a clinical support nurse assists with early shifts and patient flow. The team prides itself on being supportive, dedicated, respectful and focused on quality and safety at the centre of patient care.
The Role
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with acute medical and stroke‑related conditions.
- Monitor and manage patients’ vital signs, neurological status, and overall health.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including care plans and observation charts.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and deteriorations, initiating appropriate interventions.
- Contribute to ongoing professional development and training within the team.
You will need
- A solid understanding of acute medical conditions and stroke care management.
- Strong collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
- Strong clinical assessment skills to accurately monitor patient conditions and identify signs of deterioration in an acute care setting.
Qualifications
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board‑approved qualification in administration of medicines).
Salary
$73,109 to $80,524 per annum (Pro‑rate). Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5 % based on qualification type may be available.
Salary Packaging
