Job Summary
Clinical Nurse Consultant – Lead expert care, mentor staff, drive quality evidence‑based practice across community services.

Classification
Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award, Registered Nurse, Grade 6.
Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 pro rata per annum.
Employment Type
Permanent, part‑time – 40 hours per fortnight, commencing 31 August 2026 (hours negotiable).
Location
Launceston Community Nursing Service, Primary Health North – services delivered throughout Launceston and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist clinical expertise and consultancy in the management of complex community‑based care, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrate advanced leadership by mentoring, supporting and developing nursing staff to build capability and confidence.
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement, service development and best‑practice initiatives within a multidisciplinary setting.
- Facilitate effective care coordination and clinical decision‑making to enhance patient outcomes and support individuals to remain safely at home through coordinated use of clinical and human resources.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the provision of quality nursing and support services for community nursing clients.
- Ability to proactively direct,
lead and participate in the development of an education and research culture through developing, implementing and evaluating clinical practice standards, including monitoring clinical competences of the health care team.
- Ability to implement evidence based practices through teaching, research, and policy and protocol development and through direct example within the practice setting.
- Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Holds or working towards relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable).
