Base pay range

A$75,000.00/yr - A$85,000.00/yr

MARS is partnering with a leading Australian construction organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a agile and fast-paced environment. The role provides financial support, contributing to the effective maintenance and continuous improvement of the accounting function.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Group's month-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Oversee the Accounts Receivable function, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the AR process.
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Assist the Financial Control team with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage the upload of bank payment files.
- Maintain and update the treasury file daily, including cash position, short-term cash forecasting, and contract forecasting.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of bond and bank guarantee applications.
- Ensure accuracy of intercompany balances across internal entities.
- Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of financial accounting processes across the organisation.

Skills and Experience:

- 1-2 years of experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
- Prior experience in the construction industry will be highly regarded.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Flexible working arrangements available - one day working from home per week after probation.
