A well-loved Australian retail business, with a strong national presence, is looking for an experienced and confident HR professional to step into a senior-level role focused on employee relations.

Who are you?

You’re an experienced and confident P&C; professional ready to step into a senior-level position with a strong focus on employee relations. You thrive on ownership, influence, and collaboration — and you’re someone who’s comfortable driving outcomes without the need for direct reports.

The Role

Based at our Support Centre in Sydney’s Inner West, this newly created role will see you lead the way on complex employee relations matters across our national retail and distribution centre network. You’ll act as the go-to subject matter expert for ER/IR, providing trusted advice to operational leaders and mentoring a team of P&C; Generalists to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes.

You’ll also play a key role in building internal capability, maintaining a positive employee experience, and partnering with union representatives on matters including performance, policy, enterprise agreements, and broader employment legislation.

Your Day-to-Day

- Manage investigations, performance issues, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
- Coach and guide leaders and P&C; team members through complex ER matters.
- Liaise with legal and external parties including Fair Work as needed.




- Support enterprise agreement interpretation and maintain ER case reporting.
- Provide generalist HR support across performance, engagement, and workforce planning.
- Monitor legislation changes and update policies as needed.
- Foster a culture of trust, fairness, and psychological safety.

About You

- 3+ years experience in workplace or employee relations.
- Knowledge of employment legislation, modern awards, and enterprise agreements.
- Experience in the retail or logistics sector (desirable).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to build trusted relationships with both frontline leaders and support office peers.
- Calm under pressure and solutions-focused.
- Can travel to the Distribution Centre when needed
