Role Overview

The Environment Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Coates Technology Labs, Showrooms, and consult on the maintenance of Client Labs. This role ensures the availability of high-performance development and testing environments that support innovation and rapid product development. The manager will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement best practices in infrastructure management, automation, and technology lifecycle management.

Individual Accountabilities

- Lab Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the technology lab, including hardware, software, and networking components.
- Environment Provisioning: Manage the provisioning, configuration, and optimization of lab environments.
- Security Compliance: Ensure all lab environments comply with security policies and industry standards.
- Innovation Enablement: Provide technical support and guidance to R&D; teams for rapid prototyping and experimentation.
- Automation & Efficiency: Implement automation tools and processes to streamline workplace management and deployment workflows.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with hardware, software, support and account teams to ensure labs and show rooms are up to date and supporting the needs of the business.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for lab processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

- 3+ years of experience in lab management, IT infrastructure, system admin, or similar experience.
- Experience with Linux‑based systems.
- General knowledge of AWS tools.
- Client‑facing experience with ability to interface with clients both remotely and in‑person.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and general software development best practices.
- Strong aptitude to learn new technologies and take on new projects.
