Job Description

The Senior Payroll Officer will be responsible for:

- Support and guide payroll team members on technical payroll matters
- Assist in coordinating workloads and maintaining accurate payroll cycles
- Provide level‑two support for payroll queries and system troubleshooting
- Ensure all pay runs are delivered accurately and on time
- Maintain documentation, process guides and audit materials
- Contribute to year‑end, month‑end and periodic reporting requirements




- Participate in testing Payroll functionality and system upgrades
- Identify training needs and support cross‑skilling within the team
- Partner with HR, Finance, Reporting and Systems teams

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Payroll Officer should have:

- Strong end‑to‑end payroll experience within a medium to large organisation
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capability
- Robust governance mindset and high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Experience with payroll software
- Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation essential
