We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant in Endocrinology & Diabetes on either a Substantive or a 12 month NHS Fixed Term basis.

The successful appointee will be joining a Diabetes and Endocrinology team of 11 Consultants, which is undergoing a planned service expansion in the provision of continuous subcutaneous insulin pump, young adult and transition diabetes services, an expanded inpatient diabetes service and 7 day service from a dedicated inpatient diabetes hub. This department operates a complex intermediate diabetes service with 16 Consultants and nurse specialists directly supporting all 72 local practices.

The Endocrine service is supported by a busy CIU with a full range of agile testing and IPSS, an ESN led Thyroid tele clinic, monthly NET MDT, Thyroid nodule clinics, a nationally recognised bone and calcium service, and a regular MDT with Queens Square for the pituitary tumour pathway. The Dept. is a tertiary referral Centre for adrenal disorders. All ENDO referrals follow clearly defined pathways with pre clinic bloods to reduce follow ups. Other strong subspecialty interests within this department are diabetic foot disease, obesity,



reproductive endocrinology and maternal medicine

The appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties within the department, these include: participation in a 1:9 on call rota for Endo /Diabetes, involvement in a significant Monday to Friday AM general medical commitment as well as Diabetes and Endocrine clinics, various weekly meetings which include NANIME & CME meetings and other clinical duties.
