Department: Network Operations / Telecom Operations
We are seeking a proactive L1/L2 Engineer to support monitoring, fault management, and first-level problem resolution activities for telecom Signaling Transfer Point (STP) platforms, including Oracle and other vendor solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor STP platforms (Oracle and other vendor solutions) for alarms, performance degradation, and service-impacting events.
- Perform first-level troubleshooting and fault isolation for signaling and network-related issues.
- Utilize HP TEMIP for alarm and fault management activities.
- Monitor network KPIs, trends, and performance using Grafana dashboards.
- Use Nokia NAC tools for operational support and resolution workflows.
- Access network platforms via MML and command-line interfaces to perform diagnostics, operational checks, and recovery actions.
- Execute troubleshooting procedures and corrective actions in accordance with operational runbooks and SOPs.
- Escalate unresolved or critical incidents to L2/L3 support teams with detailed analysis and supporting logs.
- Maintain accurate incident records, troubleshooting notes, and ticket documentation.
- Support routine operational tasks, health checks,
and maintenance activities.
- Participate in shift rotations within a 24x7 Network Operations workplace.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Basic understanding of telecom signaling networks and STP environments.
- Familiarity with Oracle STP or other telecom vendor STP platforms.
- Previous experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or telecom support environment.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix command-line environments.
- Exposure to ITIL-based incident and problem management processes.
- HP TEMIP fault management.
- Nokia NAC operational tools.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting using MML commands and command-line interfaces.
- Understanding of alarm handling, incident management, and escalation processes.
- Knowledge of SS7 and SIGTRAN signaling protocols is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced operational support environment.
