Sydney (with site travel) | Renewable Energy & Grid Projects

About the Role

A major battery storage rollout is underway across NSW, involving 12 new sites from 100MW/200MWh utility-scale systems to distributed 5MW projects. We are seeking a Lead SCADA Engineer to play a key role in integrating these projects into the grid.

This is a growth role, ideal for a senior SCADA/Control Systems Engineer who’s ready to step into leadership.

You’ll remain hands-on with integration and testing, but will also be responsible for guiding junior engineers, delegating work, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and grid requirements.

What You’ll Do

- Lead SCADA and control system integration across multiple BESS sites
- Deliver and oversee FAT/SAT, commissioning, and site acceptance testing
- Work with platforms including Schneider ADMS, Zenon, and common protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus)
- Coordinate with design, protection, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and subcontractors
- Support regulatory compliance processes with AEMO and local DNSPs




- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and project managers

What We’re Looking For

- Background in SCADA, control systems, automation, or substation integration
- Hands-on experience with commissioning, protocols, and SCADA configuration
- Exposure to BESS, renewables, or utility-scale energy projects
- Comfortable delegating tasks and guiding less experienced engineers
- Strong communicator – able to explain complex issues clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with Schneider ADMS or Zenon is highly regarded
