About the Firm:

A boutique Data & Analytics consultancy delivering cloud data solutions on Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and Databricks. The team is senior and tight-knit, entering a growth phase, and looking for like‑minded technical leaders to help shape what that looks like.

The Role:

My client has an established Principal Data Management Consultant in Sydney. This role is the Melbourne equivalent — expanding their geographic reach and deepening our delivery capacity.

You’ll lead greenfield data warehouse and lakehouse builds, taking end‑to‑end responsibility for the data management layer. The numbers are right, the data is trusted, the client believes in what’s been built. You’ll be supported by the MD and work alongside the existing Principal team, but the data platform is yours to lead.

Clients are mostly mid‑market, with some enterprise. Day to day you’ll work directly with CIOs, Heads of Systems, occasionally CFOs and CEOs. The MD leads on commercial, but you’re the senior technical presence on the ground.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Leading greenfield data platform builds — warehouse and lakehouse — end to end
- Architecting and delivering on Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks
- Designing pipelines, data models,



and medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold)
- Owning data quality — reconciliations, testing, ensuring outputs are trusted
- Scoping work and contributing to pre‑sales and solution design
- Mentoring delivery team members and setting the technical bar

AI and How We Work:

My client is actively using AI to change how they deliver — Claude primarily, Microsoft Copilot as secondary. In practice: accelerating medallion layer builds, automating reconciliations, speeding up data testing. We want someone who’s already thinking this way, or genuinely keen to.

Skills & Experience:

- 12+ years in data management or data engineering
- 5+ years in consulting, with 3+ years in a senior technical leadership role
- Deep hands‑on experience across Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and/or Databricks
- Solid SQL, ETL/ELT design, and data modelling
- Strong project leadership and delivery track record
