ICU Registrar | CICM Gen24 Accredited Tertiary ICU | North Queensland
The Opportunity
We are keen to connect with ICU Registrars interested in joining a major tertiary teaching hospital in North Queensland.

This is a full-time training-focused role within a high-acuity Level 3 Intensive Care Unit accredited for substantial CICM training time.
The unit manages a broad and complex medical–surgical case mix, including major trauma, neurocritical care and cardiac critical care.

This position offers genuine tertiary exposure within a structured and well-supported training setting.
The ICU & Hospital
This is a large tertiary teaching hospital servicing a vast regional catchment and supporting one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Australia, with over 80,000 presentations annually.
The Intensive Care Unit provides:
• Level 3 mixed medical–surgical ICU capability
• Advanced ventilatory and organ support
• Major trauma exposure
• Neurocritical care experience
• Cardiac critical care exposure
• Close integration with Emergency and Anaesthetics
The unit is CICM accredited for:
• General Training (Gen24)
• Neuro
• Cardio
• Trauma
This accreditation reflects strong governance, consultant supervision and structured education.
Registrars work within a supportive consultant-led model with clear escalation pathways and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Requirements
• Eligible for registration with AHPRA
• ICU / critical care experience preferred
• CICM, ANZCA, ACEM or RACP trainees encouraged to apply
• International doctors assessed as partially or substantially comparable welcome
