THE ROLE
Safe Steps is looking for a new Director, Quality & Practice Excellence to join our team in either a full time or part time (0.8 FTE) capacity. In t his is a senior executive role reporting directly to the CEO you will build a mature quality and continuous improvement capability , ensuring services are high quality, safe, timely, responsive and aligned with MARAM , feminist intersectionality , and trauma - and violence - informed care.
Job Description
The Director of Quality & Performance at Secure Steps Family Violence Response Centre is a pivotal role that focuses on enhancing the quality of services and overall performance within the organisation. This position requires a strategic leader who will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the centre meets its objectives in providing exceptional support to families affected by violence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance framework to monitor and improve service delivery.
Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing organisational performance through data analysis, reporting, and feedback mechanisms.
Collaborate with senior management to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with organisational goals.
Facilitate training and development programs for staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement in service standards.
Oversee the evaluation and audit processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice standards.
Engage with external partners, including government bodies and community organisations, to promote collaboration in quality improvement efforts.
Prepare detailed reports for the board of directors highlighting quality metrics, areas for improvement, and action plans.
Act as a champion for client feedback initiatives, ensuring that insights from service users are integrated into program development.
This role demands an individual who can effectively lead teams, drive change, and foster an environment focused on excellence in service provision. The Director, Quality & Practice Excellence will play an essential part in shaping the future direction of Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre by ensuring that high-quality services are delivered consistently and effectively.
Desired Skills and Experience
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Strong leadership and management capabilities, with a focus on team development and performance enhancement
Expertise in quality assurance methodologies and performance measurement frameworks
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, tailored to diverse stakeholders
Proficient in project management principles and practices
Adept at fostering a culture of continuous improvement within an organisation
Keen attention to detail and commitment to achieving high standards of quality
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 7 years' experience in quality assurance or performance management roles, preferably within the social services sector
Demonstrated success in leading quality improvement initiatives that have resulted in measurable outcomes
Experience working with regulatory compliance standards and accreditation processes relevant to service delivery organisations
History of engaging with various stakeholders including government bodies, non-profits, and community organisations
Prior experience in developing training programmes focused on enhancing staff competency related to quality and performance standards
A track record of utilising data analytics tools to drive decisions and enhance organisational effectiveness
Experience managing cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment while maintaining alignment with strategic goals
