Senior Analyst, Program Regulatory Compliance SME (Fixed Term) – Sydney, Australia
The Senior Analyst, Regulatory Compliance Subject Matter Expert (SME) is under general supervision from Senior Management.
This position supports the development, implementation and enforcement of policies, procedures and programs designed to minimize potential Compliance risk for Western Union and its affiliates, within the established strategies of the Regulatory Compliance department.
An opportunity to join Western Union’s Compliance Team on a full-time basis for a 24-month period.
Role Responsibilities:
- Helps organization management in the development of overall organisation strategies, goals and initiatives.
- Helps manage compliance requirements for assigned business units and agents, typically manages compliance for moderately complex region and agents.
- Supports senior management with reporting and regulatory relationships within regulatory agencies and agents.
- Supports business units' efforts to comply with company policies and procedures as they relate to compliance.
- Evaluates internal controls for the business and agents through transaction analyses, compliance reviews and training sessions.
- Responsible for follow up with the business and agents concerning review findings and communication of assessments to the appropriate internal management.
Role Requirements:
- Experience: 2/3+ years of experience in audit, risk, and/or compliance roles, with a focus on regulatory compliance.
- Skills: Knowledge of ASIC and/or APRA regulations and standards, ability to apply audit standards, sound professional judgment, risk assessment, stakeholder management, clear communication, and a consistent focus on quality and well-documented work.
- Education: A degree in commerce, business, law, finance, risk, compliance, or equivalent, with CA qualified or working towards CA (or equivalent).
- Desires: Interest in mentoring and supporting junior team members, and a consistent focus on quality and well-documented work.
- These requirements ensure that the Senior Analyst is well-equipped to handle the complexities of regulatory compliance and contribute to the success of the team and the organization

- Customer Due Diligence requirements

Work Shift
