About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Food & Beverage Night Supervisor to join the management team at Bombora Seafood in Wollongong (C&RE; PTY LTD). This is a full-time position based in Wollongong NSW 2500. As a Food & Beverage Night Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and maintaining operational standards during the restaurant's afternoon and night trading hours.

You will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring quality standards are met, and contributing directly to the profitability and reputation of the establishment. This position offers the opportunity to develop your management skills whilst working in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

1. Supervising and directing food and beverage staff, including servers, bartenders and kitchen assistants, to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery
2. Training and developing team members to enhance their skills, product knowledge and customer service capabilities
3. Monitoring food and beverage quality, presentation and consistency in accordance with established standards and recipes
4. Managing inventory, stock rotation and ordering of food and beverage supplies, whilst minimising waste and controlling costs
5. Ensuring compliance with health, safety and food hygiene regulations, including regular inspections and documentation
6. Following the finalising of daily trade, cash counting and nightly closure procedures
7. Handling customer complaints and resolving issues professionally to ensure guest satisfaction and loyalty
8. Assisting with promotional activities to drive revenue and customer engagement
9. Maintaining a clean and organised work environment across all food and beverage areas
10. Preparing reports on operational performance, staff scheduling and financial metrics for management review

Liaising with kitchen manager and front-of-house to coordinate service during busy periods

What we're looking for

1. Commitment to work afternoon through to night hours
2. 2-3 years' experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within food and beverage operations
3. Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, health codes and hospitality industry best practices
4. Robust understanding of food and beverage products, including wines, spirits, cocktails and cuisine styles
5. Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment, with proven conflict resolution skills
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff and guests
7. Strong organisational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy
8. Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and hospitality management software
9. Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
10. Current food handling certificate or willingness to obtain one
11. Certification in responsible service of alcohol (RSA) or equivalent
12. Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
13. Experience in a similar hospitality venue or restaurant environment is highly desirable
