This is more than a commissioning role. You’ll be involved in bringing complex power stations to life, working across diesel, gas, solar, battery storage and control systems.

You will partner with engineering, construction, operations, OEMs and specialist contractors to safely commission new power stations and major plant upgrades.

Commissioning Technician | Hybrid Power Generation | FIFO 2:2

About the Role

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you’ll be responsible for commissioning, testing, and start‑up of Zenith’s off‑grid hybrid power stations.

Working on a permanent 2:2 FIFO roster, you will help ensure each facility is commissioned safely, operates as designed, and meets Zenith’s engineering, operational, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Commission control systems and associated power generation equipment.
- Test, troubleshoot and fault‑find electrical and mechanical systems.
- Commission diesel, gas, solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
- Follow and complete Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection Test Records (ITRs).
- Work closely with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to ensure compliance with design standards.
- Support OEM technicians and specialist sub‑contractors during equipment commissioning.
- Support construction teams during project delivery.
- Assist with developing operating procedures and training programs.
- Provide technical support during project handover to Operations.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality and compliance throughout commissioning activities.

About You

You are a trade‑qualified Electrical Technician with experience commissioning power generation equipment and enjoy solving complex technical challenges.

You’ll bring

- A current WA Electrical Licence.




- A minimum of two years’ experience within the power generation industry.
- Robust electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience commissioning industrial control systems.
- A current HV Switching qualification.
- A current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.

Desirable Experience

- PLC programming or troubleshooting.
- COMAP control systems.
- Strong industrial networking and OT experience.
- Current First Aid certificate.
- A current EWP Licence.
- Previous experience with hybrid power stations that include solar, wind and BESS technologies.
