Maitland Kids Preschool & Early Learning Centre is a purpose-built Early Childhood Education and Care Service located in the heart of Maitland, providing high-quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.

We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated professionals to join our team in the following positions:

Service Cook (Maternity Leave Cover)

Part Time | 30 Hours per Week | Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced and organised Service Cook to prepare nutritious, balanced meals that support the health and wellbeing of the children in our care.

About the Role

As our Service Cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing healthy meals and snacks while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen management. You will work closely with our educators to cater for children's dietary requirements and contribute to creating positive mealtime experiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with children's dietary needs.
- Develop menus that align with the Get Up & Grow Guidelines, Australian Dietary Guidelines and Munch & Move Program.
- Maintain exceptional food safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Monitor kitchen supplies and food ordering while working within budget.
- Maintain food preparation, storage and temperature records.
- Ensure compliance with NSW Health regulations and Centre policies.
- Support Centre events and celebrations where required.

Essential Requirements





- Previous experience as a Cook, preferably within an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (essential).
- Knowledge of nutrition and food safety requirements for young children.
- Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Solid organisational and communication skills.

Desirable

- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Diploma Qualified Educator

Full Time | 38 Hours per Week | Monday to Friday

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Diploma Qualified Educator who is passionate about providing high-quality education and care while building meaningful relationships with children, families and colleagues.

About the Role

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of engaging educational programs that support children's learning and development in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
- Contribute to planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs.
- Support children's learning, wellbeing and development through meaningful interactions.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Maintain safe, engaging and inclusive learning environments.
- Follow all Centre policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
- Participate in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.

Essential Requirements

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.




- Current Working With Children Check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
- Sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Full working rights in Australia.

Mandatory Requirements for Both Positions

Successful applicants will demonstrate a genuine commitment to child safety and must have:

- Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain where applicable).
- Completion of the National Child Safety Foundation Training through the Geccko platform, or willingness to complete prior to commencement.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for every child.
