The Horticulture Coordinator provides leadership, governance, planning, and operational oversight of horticulture functions at Perth Zoo.

This role is responsible for leading all horticultural operations across the estate, including landscape presentation, plant and tree collection management, and browse production.

The role ensures that horticultural assets enhance animal welfare, support a high-quality visitor experience, and align with organisational objectives, asset management and environmental strategies.

The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria

1.



Significant experience in horticulture or landscape operations within a large or complex setting (e.g. public open space, zoo, botanical garden, or large estate).
2. Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, including supervising staff, coordinating operational work programs, and building a high-performing team culture.
3. Experience managing horticultural operations, including grounds maintenance, irrigation systems, plant health, and landscape presentation standards.
4. Proven experience in operational planning and reporting, including monitoring performance, analysing operational data, and reporting outcomes. Tertiary qualification in horticulture, environmental management, or related field.
