About the Venue:
Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise is a premium hotel destination on Queensland’s Gold Coast, known for its elevated dining experiences, large-scale food and beverage operations, and iconic venues. At the heart of the hotel is Horizon, Queensland’s only revolving restaurant, offering guests a unique dining experience combining panoramic views with high-quality buffet service and contemporary cuisine.

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the team at Horizon Restaurant. This is a key leadership role supporting the Executive Chef in delivering high-quality buffet service and contributing to the ongoing evolution of this iconic dining concept.

You will play an active role in daily kitchen operations, supporting menu execution, buffet presentation, and service delivery in a high-volume, premium environment. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a signature restaurant with solid focus on quality, consistency, and guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Executive Chef in leading daily kitchen operations

- Oversee buffet preparation, presentation, and service execution

- Ensure consistency, quality, and high standards across all food offerings

- Support menu planning, buffet rotation, and ongoing development of offerings

- Manage stock control, ordering, and cost efficiency

- Maintain strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)





- Lead and support kitchen team members during busy service periods

- Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen and front-of-house operations

About You:

- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior CDP in a high-volume hotel or buffet environment

- Strong buffet service experience essential

- Passion for delivering high-quality, consistent food

- Strong leadership and team development skills

- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment

- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations

- Flexible availability including weekends and evenings

- Full Australian working rights (sponsorship not available for this role)
