ChoiceOne is recruiting for an experienced Manual Machinist with an immediate start with a well-established, Australian-owned engineering business based in Welshpool.

This business is a reputable manufacturer, repairer, and supplier of earthmoving products servicing the mining, construction, and primary manufacturing industries across Australia. About the Role
You will be joining a highly experienced and knowledgeable team in a busy workshop environment, contributing to the manufacture, repair, and refurbishment of critical components used in heavy industry.

As a Manual Machinist, your primary focus will be completing assigned tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently, while supporting a strong safety-first and teamwork-driven culture.

Key Duties

- Manual lathe operation
- Operation of milling machines and horizontal borers
- Operation of radial arm drill
- Preventive and routine maintenance of machinery
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Manufacture, repair, and refurbishment of components
- Maintain clean, safe, and well-serviced machines




- Accurate completion of job-related documentation
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and workshop teams
- Programming experience (highly regarded)

Skills & Experience

- Trade qualified Machinist
- Proven experience in a machine shop environment
- Highly proficient operating manual lathes, milling machines, horizontal borers and radial arm drills
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Computer literacy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Confident team player who can also work autonomously
- Current forklift licence (essential)
- Full working rights in Australia - ONLY Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
