Evaluate engineering related tasks that involve the selection, analysis, and improvement of techniques and procedures to support safe, efficient and cost‑effective mining operations within the Genesis Minerals open‑pit environment.
Responsibilities
- Support safe, efficient and sustainable mining operations.
- Prepared and maintain drill and blast pattern designs and tie‑ins.
- Reviewed drill and blast results, providing reconciliation and improvement recommendations.
- Undertake short‑term mine planning and support plan execution.
- Design short‑term mine infrastructure, including dumps, haul roads and access ramps.
- Prepare dig plans, face maps and operator instructions to support selective mining.
- Upload and manage dig designs and surface plans on machines.
- Liaised with production, geology and survey departments to ensure efficient execution of production plans.
- Monitored fleet productivity and recommended improvements.
- Collected operational data and prepared daily and weekly reconciliation production reports.
Qualifications
- Operational,
site‑based mining experience (ideally gold).
- Sound demonstrated experience in an Open‑Pit Mine Planning role.
- Technical expertise in open‑pit mine design, drill and blast, optimisation and planning.
- Expert user of Microsoft Office – Excel.
- Proficient with computer scheduling software (Deswick, Surpac, Datamine, etc.).
- Power BI reporting experience (desirable).
