We are seeking compassionate, reliable and dedicated Aged Care Workers who are passionate about supporting older Australians to maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
About the Role
As an Aged Care Worker, you will provide person-centred care and practical support to elderly clients in accordance with individual care plans. You will assist clients with personal care, activities of daily living and community participation while promoting their dignity, independence and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care in accordance with individual care plans and organisational policies.
- Assist clients with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence care and mobility assistance.
- Assist clients with transferring and mobility using safe manual handling techniques and mobility equipment where required.
- Support clients with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, feeding assistance, light domestic duties and maintaining a protected home environment.
- Assist clients to attend medical appointments, shopping,
social outings and community activities.
- Encourage clients to maintain independence, dignity and social participation.
- Monitor clients' physical and emotional wellbeing and promptly report any changes to the appropriate supervisor.
- Complete accurate progress notes, care records and incident reports.
- Work collaboratively with care coordinators, nurses, allied health professionals, family members and other stakeholders.
- Comply with workplace health and safety, infection control, privacy and safeguarding requirements.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience in aged care, home care or community care (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, respectful and person-centred approach.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Professionalism, reliability and sound judgement.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or higher in Individual Support (Ageing), Individual Support, Aged Care or a related qualification.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (where applicable).
- Current Working with Children Check (where applicable).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Driver Licence.
- Reliable motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Smartphone for work-related communication and reporting.
- Current vaccinations in accordance with organisational requirements.
