As a result of a secured engagement with one of our national security partners, Helix requires a Windows Engineer to join us.

We're looking for a Windows Engineer with proven experience of solving complex problems, who thrives working as part of a team to push boundaries and is passionate about leveraging technology to produce world-class outcomes for critical federal government organisations.

NV2 is a minimum clearance requirement for this engagement.

The Windows Engineer key requirements & responsibilities:

- Automating the repeatable delivery and integration of Windows based operating systems, applications, and configuration.
- Extensive background in Windows Server and Desktop support including AD and GPO configuration, MECM application deployment and Ivanti application whitelisting technologies.
- Contributing to an Active Directory multi-domain forest design and implementation across several network security domains.
- Perform SOE development and maintenance for physical and virtual machines using enterprise versions of Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022.
- Working closely with other disciplines within the delivery team to ensure that the services and applications being deployed align to Microsoft best practices.
- Development of detailed design, operational artefacts and as-built documentation to support the delivery.
- Conducting unit testing of products suitable for delivery into production.
- Assisting with planning for a multi-phase delivery.

The Windows Engineer essential experience:

- Deploying and managing a variety of Windows-based technologies at enterprise scale.
- Designing, deploying,



and operating Active Directory, ideally in a multi-domain architecture.
- Working with Group Policy to manage device and user configuration and policy.
- Working with Microsoft DHCP, DNS and NTP.
- Working with Windows in a virtualised environment.
- Troubleshooting complex Windows issues across desktop and server.
- Working knowledge of a variety of authentication methods including LDAP, SAML2.0 and Kerberos.
- PowerShell scripting.
- Extensive experience with host based log collection agent development and sustainment using Visual Studio IDE, C#, .NET and SQL database integrations.
- Experience with configuration and management of VMware vSphere/vSAN virtualisation environments and working with network-attached storage appliances including NetApp.
- A working knowledge of 3rd party automation tools including Terraform, Ansible and vRealize.
- Networking fundamentals.
- Working with Microsoft AD CS.
- Working with VMWare products.
- Experience working in a DevSecOps model to develop and promote code, with a solid emphasis on CI/CD methodologies.
- Working with Containerised Systems.
- Understanding of Essential 8 and conforming with ISM requirements.
- Application packaging and deployment techniques.
