Continuing, Full Time Appointment |Teaching Focused Academic Level D - E

About the Position
The Associate Professor/Professor of Social Work will provide strong, strategic leadership for the discipline and will assume the role of Head of Discipline (Community and Social Work) with a direct report to the Dean of Allied Health Sciences.
Fostering excellence in teaching, research, supervision and community engagement, the primary purpose of this role is to provide academic leadership to course oversight and development of undergraduate and postgraduate education programs. As a senior academic position, it requires vision and energy to ensure academic quality and drive innovation in curriculum development, unit coordination and program delivery.
This position will lead developments in curriculum, research, strengthen engagement with partners, though building a solid and cohesive team.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
- Have a relevant qualification and hold AASW membership.
- Evidence of the ability to lead the scholarship of teaching and learning and promote and disseminate such activities within the Faculty of Health and more broadly with a demonstrated understanding of a university learning environment and equity programs and providing supportive education to people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds and varying age groups
- Excellent professional teamwork and leadership, with high level communication skills, including oral, written, information communication technology (ICT) and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to represent the university at a range of forums, and to liaise, communicate, negotiate and collaborate with clients, stakeholders and partners, to deliver a valued service and achieve agreed outcomes.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the University values and support the University's commitment to the principles of reconciliation, which exemplify respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and the valuing of justice and equity for all Australians.
- High level management and organization skills, with the ability to support staff with the understanding and application of policy and process for teaching, research and administrative/ service work.
- Additional Key Selection Criteria at Level E
- Evidence of excellence in course development, community engagement and research leadership.
- Expertise in the development of units/courses and student resources in response to reflective practice and application of scholarship within the context and requirements of a quality education provider
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at HE Academic Level D-E. The base salary will be in the range of $162,335-$195,391 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $189,931-$228,607 per annum, inclusive of 17% superannuation.
