Position Overview

Due to continuing growth we now have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide support in a diverse role within a professional and friendly environment. This is a full-time position based in our Perth office.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, your duties will include but not be limited to:

- Electrical engineering, taking designs from concept into detailed IFC engineering deliverables

- Support and collaborate with skilled engineers to develop designs for a wide range of plant and infrastructure

- Prepare Electrical and instrumentation designs and calculations in accordance with relevant Client and Australian Standards

- Configuration and Commissioning of Electrical (protection devices, VSD's, Instrumentation) and Control Systems

- Prepare technical engineering documents as part of overall project engineering deliverables





- Providing technical review and advice to a growing team of electrical/controls engineers and to the wider EMtek team

- Support and collaborate with other disciplines and designers to develop designs for a wide range of plant and infrastructure

- Occasional visits to client sites as required

- Maintain a safety focus through all aspects of work

Skills and Experience

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering and 6+ years of Engineering experience in a multidiscipline environment, preferably in the mining and resources sector within Australia

- Proven experience as a design electrical engineer (Switchroom Design, Switchboards, MCC, LV, HV, VSD’s, Transformer, ATS, Lightning Protection and Earthing systems, Underground Services, Lighting design, Power systems study reports, Instrumentation etc) able to produce evidence of calculations and design documentation

- Proven experience in preparation of technical documentation, Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, Loop Diagrams, Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Instrument Hook-up Drawings, Thermal load calcs, Cable calcs, Cable Schedules, Datasheets, Vendor Packs, Specifications, Functional Descriptions, Equipment lists, Operations and Maintenance manuals, Reports, ITPs

- Ability to interface at stakeholders at all levels, as well as client interface

- Preparing estimations for electrical design works as well as producing tendering requirements (MTOs, cable length, glands, trays, earthing materials, etc.)





- Practical experience working in construction, commissioning and/or operations in the bulk materials and minerals processing industries

- Exposure to and knowledge of Control Systems in SCADA, PLC and RTU Platforms.

- Good presentation and communication skills at all levels

- Awareness and collaboration across multiple disciplines, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and process controls

- Experience across a range of commodities, including gold, copper, lithium and iron ore, is favourable

- Power system modelling experience ideally with:

1. Control System software design including PLC and SCADA

2. Industrial Communication System Design, and Sound knowledge of IP Networks

3. CAD proficiency
