Residential Site Supervisor

Distinctive Homes is now seeking a Residential Site Supervisor to join our team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, in this hands-on role you will be responsible for quality, timeliness, compliance and safety across multiple residential construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all activities on assigned sites ensuring that homes are completed on time and budget.
- Interpret building plans, drawings and specifications and ensure that all works comply with council approvals, and building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate subcontractors & suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Maintain quality by conducting regular quality assurance inspections and ensure that any sub-standard, defective, or non-compliant work is identified and corrected.
- Review subcontractor invoices and sign off or address.
- Prepare and maintain site records and construction programs. Monitor progress, identify and mitigate any site delays and ensure extensions of time are claimed where appropriate.
- Provide weekly progress updates to Construction Manager to facilitate progress claims.
- Consult with councils as required and ensure accurate project documentation, photos and paperwork are maintained during the building process.
- Maintain safe, clean, and compliant work sites in line with the WHS Act and OH&S; requirements.
- Maintain a strong customer focus by communicating clearly and regularly with customers, providing regular updates, and managing expectations throughout.
To Be Successful for This Position You Will Have
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Residential Construction Supervisor, ideally in South Australia.
- Construction industry experience, preferably with a carpentry background.
- A current Building Work Supervisor License and White Card or be progressing to obtain a license.
- A South Australian Drivers Licence
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- An in-depth understanding of construction processes, methods, practices, materials, and standards related to the building of residential homes.
- A sound understanding of South Australian Building Regulations, National Construction Code and Australian Standards
- Strong organisational and management skills with demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple subcontractors and suppliers across multiple sites in order to achieve deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship with a proactive approach to identifying defects or problems and an ability to take the necessary actions to rectify or prevent them occurring.
- Excellent communication and able to collaborate with all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and the Distinctive Homes team.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Project, and Excel in particular).
