National Retail Manager – Assetlink Village Services

From well-stocked retail stores to reliable supply, strong supplier partnerships and positive customer experiences, our retail operations play an significant role in supporting village life and ensuring residents have access to the goods and services they need while on site.
About the Role
We are seeking Expressions of Interest for an experienced Full Time National Retail Manager to join the Assetlink Village Services team.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing retail operations across AVS, including procurement, inventory management, supplier relationships, cost control, merchandising and store performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders, site teams and suppliers to support the delivery of consistent, commercially focused and customer-led retail services across our village operations.
This role is typically based in Perth, with occasional travel to remote sites as required. Some evening or weekend work may also be required from time to time to support business needs, urgent matters or project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Overseeing procurement of goods for retail operations across AVS sites
• Managing supplier relationships, pricing, contracts and vendor performance
• Supporting inventory control, stock availability and ordering processes
• Driving cost management, margin improvement and commercial performance
• Supporting store operations to ensure consistency, compliance and service standards
• Reviewing retail performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Coordinating merchandising, product presentation and promotional activities
• Working closely with site teams to support the resident and customer experience
• Ensuring retail operations align with AVS business objectives, safety standards and operational requirements
- Supporting retail operations across multiple mining village sites throughout Australia.
- Developing promotions,
seasonal campaigns and retail initiatives to drive sales and improve the customer experience.
- Assisting site teams with merchandising, product displays and retail presentation to maximise sales opportunities.
- Working closely with Village Managers and staff to ensure consistency across sites.
- Managing retail pricing, product codes, promotions and new product implementation through SwiftPOS.
- Creating policies and procedures to assist sites in using SwiftPOS.
- Assisting with stock ordering, receipting and inventory management, while working closely with suppliers to ensure product availability.
- Identifying new products and retail opportunities based on customer feedback and site requirements.
- Coordinating the retail setup for new village mobilization's and ensuring all systems and stock are ready and set up prior to opening.
- Travelling to site as required to provide hands-on support, training and assistance with retail operations.
- Reviewing retail performance, identifying trends and implementing initiatives to improve sales and profitability.
- Working closely with our operational teams to continually improve the retail offering across the business.
About You
We are looking for an experienced retail professional who is commercially minded, organised and confident working in a fast-paced operational environment.
You will bring strong procurement, supplier management and retail operations experience, along with the ability to build relationships, solve problems and support continuous improvement across multiple sites.
You will be someone who can work both strategically and hands-on, with the confidence to manage competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on service, cost control, compliance and customer experience.
What We’re Looking For
The below experience will be highly regarded:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Retail Management or a related field will be highly regarded
• Previous experience in retail management, procurement,
supply chain or a similar role
• Experience working across remote villages, mining, hospitality, facilities management or multi-site operations
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, inventory management and retail store operations
• Proven experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships
• Experience with retail management systems, inventory control tools or procurement software
• SwiftPOS experience will be highly regarded
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and operational priorities
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Strong leadership capability with the ability to support and influence site teams
• Unrestricted Driver’s Licence
