Engineering Dynamics Consultants (EDC) is a Perth-based engineering consultancy specialising in advanced structural dynamics, vibration, stress and fatigue analysis to the mining, offshore, industrial, rail and marine sectors across Australia and internationally.

EDC specialises in the fields of:

- Structural dynamics

- Vibration and noise testing and analysis

- Design/audits/end-of-life studies of bulk handling machinery

- Advanced FEA computer simulation

- Fatigue and fracture analysis

- Short and long term multi-channel test and measurement of structures/machines

- 3D Modelling and Simulation / VR / Drafting

- Structural engineering predominately in mining

An opportunity now exists for an experienced and practical professional Structural Designer to join our Design and Drafting (D&D;) team.

The position:

- Working within the D&D; team to deliver bespoke brownfields design solutions suitable for fabrication and installation

· Engineering Team to ensure designs meet engineering, fabrication and construction requirements

· Preparation of engineering drawings, marking plans, MTO’s, and occasional shop detailing drawings.

· Assisting with the scoping of drawing deliverables to meet client needs.

· Ensuring compliance with relevant Australian codes, standards, and internal quality assurance procedures.

· Able to conduct and lead model reviews on jobs with engineering team client when required.

· Ensuring client standard connections and details are used where possible





· Conduct and oversee designs end-to-end

· Accountable for drawing review compliance and checking

· Responsible for document control and drawing numbering management and registers

· Reporting to the D&D; Lead and accountable to the Project Lead for project compliance.

· Development of internal D&D; systems and processes.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Essential:

- 5 years minimum experience in a structural design or drafting role within the mining industry.

- Proficient in Advance Steel

- Demonstrated structural design experience, not drafting or detailing alone.

- Self-driven and motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.

- Excellent organisational, time management, and attention to detail.

- Be articulate, with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

- Experience with major mining client drawing requirements, including CAD Conformance.

Desirable, but not essential:

- Mechanical design experience.

- Experience with 3D laser scanning and working with point cloud data.

- Experience with SolidWorks and/or Inventor.

- General exposure to resource industry projects and/or equipment and assets.
