Veterinary Nurse (Casual or Part-Time) | Greencross Vets Port Macquarie | NSW

Greencross Port Macquarie is looking for an experienced and confident Surgical Veterinary Nurse to join our exceptional team on a casual or part-time basis.

You'll be working alongside:

Dr Asanda, recipient of National New Graduate of the Year, known for her enthusiasm and clinical curiosityCalli, our Regional Nurse of the Year, recognised for her outstanding nursing skills and patient careDr Sarah, who holds a Membership in Behaviour and has a strong interest in wildlife medicinePractice Manager Sarah, who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes so the clinical team can focus on patient careWe also have access to local veterinary surgeons with surgical memberships, providing additional support and mentoring opportunities for advanced cases.

About the Role





This casual or part-time position is ideal for a nurse who loves surgical nursing and wants to utilise their skills every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

Surgical patient preparation and theatre supportMonitoring anaesthesia and patient recoveryAssisting veterinarians during procedures and surgeriesDental procedures and dental radiographyCollecting and processing pathology samplesAdministering medications and treatmentsInpatient care and monitoringMaintaining high standards of infection control and theatre cleanlinessEducating and supporting clients throughout their pet's treatment journeyContributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the hospitalThis role offers genuine variety and the opportunity to work alongside a highly capable veterinary and nursing team.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary NursingHas a minimum of 2 years' clinical nursing experienceIs a confident and experienced Surgical Veterinary NurseHas strong skills in anaesthetic monitoring and patient recoveryEnjoys working in a busy hospital environmentDemonstrates excellent attention to detailHas strong communication and client care skillsWorks well independently and as part of a teamBrings a positive attitude and strong work ethic to every shiftMost importantly, you're passionate about patient care and enjoy contributing to a positive, supportive team culture.
