Maintenance, Grounds & Renovations Handyperson

Launceston Holiday Park is seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance, Grounds & Renovations Handyperson to help maintain and improve our property.

This is a permanent part-time position offering approximately 20 hours per week. Additional hours are expected to become available as we commence cabin renovation and property improvement projects.

On-site accommodation is available by agreement but is not compulsory.

About the role

This is a wide-ranging, hands-on position covering groundskeeping, gardening, general property maintenance, repairs and future cabin renovations.

You will be responsible for keeping the park’s cabins, buildings, facilities and grounds safe, functional, clean and well presented.

The initial focus will be on regular grounds maintenance, gardening, preventative maintenance and day-to-day repairs. As our cabin renovation program begins, the role will expand to include additional renovation and refurbishment work.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain lawns, gardens, trees, pathways and outdoor areas

- Mow lawns, trim edges, remove weeds and prune plants

- Keep the park grounds clean, tidy and well presented

- Remove leaves, branches, rubbish and outdoor debris

- Maintain garden beds and complete general landscaping tasks

- Check and maintain fencing, signage, outdoor lighting and park facilities





- Complete general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the property

- Identify and resolve maintenance issues in cabins and common areas

- Repair doors, locks, cupboards, furniture, fittings and fixtures

- Carry out basic carpentry, painting, plastering and general repair work

- Complete minor plumbing tasks that do not require a licensed plumber

- Assist with flooring, tiling and cabin refurbishment projects

- Prepare and paint internal and external surfaces

- Assist with future cabin renovations and property upgrades

- Maintain bin areas and assist with waste management

- Conduct regular property and maintenance inspections

- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues

- Safely operate gardening and maintenance equipment

- Keep tools, machinery and work areas clean and organised

- Liaise with management regarding repairs, materials and renovation projects

- Follow workplace health and safety requirements

About you

We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable, physically capable and able to work independently.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

- Previous experience in property maintenance, groundskeeping, gardening, renovations, construction or handyman work

- Experience using lawnmowers,



whipper snippers and other groundskeeping equipment

- Experience in carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, tiling or general building work

- Strong practical and problem-solving skills

- Good attention to detail and pride in their work

- The physical ability to perform outdoor and manual work

- The ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks

- A friendly and skilled manner when interacting with guests

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team

- A current Australian driver’s licence

- Reliable transport

- Basic tools where possible

Trade qualifications are highly regarded but are not essential for applicants with strong practical maintenance and renovation experience.
