The Salvation Army’s Drive for Life program plays a vital role in empowering young people who face barriers to obtaining their driver’s licence—an essential step towards independence, employment, and social inclusion. As a Driving Instructor with SAES (Salvos), you will contribute directly to this mission by delivering professional driving lessons, guidance, and mentorship to program participants. Our approach offers more than just driving skills—it’s about developing safe, confident drivers and supporting long-term wellbeing through practical, skills-based support.

About the role We are seeking a values-driven Senior Driving Instructor to support the Drive 4 Life program, which assists young people to obtain their driver’s licence and move along the pathway to independence. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the program, supporting both staff and participants to achieve positive driving outcomes and increased independence.

Reporting to the Regional Manager this is a permanent part-time role, located in Oasis Youth Services - Central Coast You will successfully Coordinate and deliver the Drive for Life Program, providing driving lessons and support to young people facing barriers to gaining their licence, including managing external driving instructors when needed. Provide day-to-day operational support to Drive for Life staff across Western Sydney and contribute to the development of program resources and volunteer capacity.

Maintain accurate client records and data using SAMIS, and support the preparation of reports for funding bodies to ensure program outcomes meet or exceed KPIs. Build and maintain effective partnerships with community organisations, schools, employment services, and driving instructors to support referral pathways and program delivery. Promote a secure, inclusive, and culturally appropriate service environment, while contributing to continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with WHS and organisational policies.





You will have Minimum of Certificate 4 in Motor Vehicle Driving Instruction or Similar & Accreditation as a Driving Instructor in NSW A Current Working with Children’s Check A Current First-Aid Certificate Demonstrated experience working with young people, particularly those facing barriers or from diverse backgrounds.
