The Role

Working in partnership with the Airport Duty Manager (ADM), and reporting to the Terminal Operations Manager, the Airport Coordination Officer (ACO) is the ‘eyes and ears’ of the airport with the primary objective of providing the best possible management and coordination of relevant airport operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Aircraft parking allocation and the performance monitoring of critical terminal facilities/services (baggage handling, check-in, passenger processing and security screening capacity);

- Monitoring and coordinating Adelaide Airport and Parafield Airport resources to ensure the highest possible customer service outcomes;





- Communicating and coordinating with airlines and support agencies to ensure the best possible operational solutions are achieved when allocating terminal resources including boarding gates, aircraft parking bays and baggage reclaim units;

- Providing a support role to the ADM during significant incidents and emergencies. This may include Aerodrome Emergency Plan (AEP) activation and personnel call-outs in accordance the respective airport’s AEP;

- Responding to plant, equipment and systems faults and ensure all faults or maintenance requirements are investigated, reported and rectified as appropriate. This includes the activation call-outs for out of hours failures of critical systems or facilities;

- Supervising and controlling the various operational systems to maintain the integrity of security facilities and services within the various airport environs.

Hours are worked on rotating 12-hour shifts, to cover the 24/7 nature of the airport.

About You





- Ability to work irregular hours and night work as necessary to cover absence and operational requirements;

- Strong customer service focus with the ability to develop team-oriented working relationships across departments and with external stakeholders.

- This is a diverse, dynamic, fast paced role that requires adaptability, strong decision-making skills and the ability to plan, organise and problem solve to develop and take action in delivering appropriate solutions.

Skills and experience
The following skills and experience will be highly regarded:

- Previous operational airport/airline experience;

- Experience in a complex and dynamic operational environment with competing priorities, including incident and emergency response;

- Experience in a coordination and/or monitoring environment;

- Experience and ability to accurately and professionally report information on incidents, system failures and / or accidents;

- Knowledge of Airport Safety & Security procedures;

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and negotiate successful outcomes
