DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?
You're a trade qualified Auto Electrician who knows heavy mobile equipment inside out. You're comfortable working in a mining environment, you take fault finding seriously, and you don't need someone looking over your shoulder to get the job done right. You're looking for a stable permanent role with a roster that gives you real time off, and a company that actually backs its people.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults across heavy mobile equipment including machine electronics, wiring and harness systems, batteries, and charging systems
- Use diagnostic software and trade tooling to identify root causes and complete repairs to full operational standard
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and fault findings in line with site documentation requirements
- Participate in pre-start checks, planned maintenance activities, and breakdown response according to site schedules and priorities
- Communicate equipment condition clearly to the broader maintenance team and escalate issues that fall outside trade scope or require additional authorisation
- Support a disciplined, safety focused crew through consistent attendance, clear communication, and reliable follow-through
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Cert III in Automotive Electrical Technology or a recognised equivalent
- Demonstrated experience on heavy mobile equipment electrical systems in mining or heavy industry
- Current Queensland High Risk Work Licence including Working at Heights, LF Forklift, and EWP tickets, or a confirmed plan to close any gap within the first three months
- Current minimum C class driver's licence
- Full working rights in Australia. Sponsorship is not available.
WHO YOU ARE
You treat safety as a personal standard, not a box to tick, and you hold that line consistently whether it's day one or day seven of the roster.
You take ownership of the quality of your work, and you don't sign off on something you wouldn't stand behind. When something's wrong, you say so directly and clearly rather than letting it slide.
You're reliable and a team player: you show up, you follow through, and you don't leave the crew short. You can handle the physical and social realities of mine site living, including dry camp conditions and you bring a skilled and respectful presence to a close quarters environment under operational pressure.
WHAT YOU WILL GET
When you join HCJ Group, you will get more than just a job:
- Competitive hourly rate of $70 to $77 per hour
- FIFO roster structured to give you genuine time at home
- Regular performance reviews with real pathways for growth
- A locally owned business where decisions are made by people who are invested in the outcomes
- Supportive team culture where your contribution is recognised
- A company that is growing and building a team worth being part of
