Business Events (BE) Perth is the peak industry body responsible for marketing Western Australia as a destination for conventions, corporate meetings and incentive travel groups. The organisation’s remit is to drive increased business event visitation to the State, supporting the diversification of Western Australia’s visitor economy.

The Business Development Manager has primary responsibility for securing business events in the international and national association market, along with the Western market corporate and incentive market.

What you'll do…

- In liaison with the Director Business Development - Associations develop an effective strategy for maximising the conversion of association and corporate business to achieve agreed annual targets.

- Conduct in-depth market research, identifying potential recent national and international business events for Western Australia.

- Qualify and assist ASPIRE applicants for local host opportunities.

- Research and document the bid decision-making process and conference meeting and event history.

- Work with industry partners to deliver the best outcome for clients.

- Organise and host site inspections and familiarisation trips for national and international decision makers in support of the business development team.

- Prepare in-depth bid documentation,



implementing conversion strategies unique to each bid.

- Maintain accurate client and event data on the database and in client files.

- Collaborate and communicate with other team members by reporting on trends and issues for the business events market as required.

Qualifications…

Relevant background in a business development role with NFP, government, business event venue, tourism or corporate sector.
