WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLEAs an Administrative Officer, you will play a key role in supporting Colleges across James Cook University by delivering high-quality administrative, organisational and customer service support. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will contribute to the efficient delivery of services, ensuring activities are completed in accordance with University policies, procedures and systems.Key responsibilities include:Coordinating and scheduling internal and external meetings and eventsProviding administrative support to Executive Team members and broader College operationsOrganising travel and accommodation arrangementsCoordinating recruitment activities, including arranging interviewsDrafting and preparing a range of communications and correspondenceLiaising with staff, students, clients and key stakeholdersReviewing, processing and finalising ServiceNow requestsManaging documentation and maintaining accurate records and databases
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLEYou are a highly organised administrative professional with excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. You have experience supporting senior staff or executive teams and are confident working across a range of systems and processes.You will also demonstrate:Experience providing high-quality administrative support in a busy environmentStrong customer service skills with the ability to manage high volumes of enquiries via phone and emailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and computerised systems and databasesStrong time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlinesHigh attention to detail and accuracyThe ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgroundsA collaborative approach while also being able to work independently
