About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent (Track) to lead the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of track maintenance, inspection and mechanised maintenance activities across the Carmichael Rail Network.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager (Track & Civil), you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the delivery of maintenance programs, technical maintenance plans and asset performance outcomes across the network.

You will lead maintenance supervisors and work collaboratively with operations, planning, engineering and contractor partners to ensure safe and effective maintenance execution.

Key accountabilities

- Lead a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with rail safety standards, policies and procedures.
- Oversee the delivery of track maintenance, inspection and mechanised maintenance programs across the network.
- Execute annual maintenance plans, Technical Maintenance Plans (TMPs), possessions and shutdown activities.
- Monitor asset condition, maintenance performance and defect management to achieve reliability targets.




- Manage contractor and supplier performance to ensure secure, efficient and high-quality outcomes.
- Control maintenance budgets, resources and work priorities to optimise operational performance.
- Lead, coach and develop maintenance teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Minimum 10 years' experience within rail infrastructure maintenance, construction, inspections, renewals or asset management environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading maintenance teams across multiple work locations.
- Proven capability delivering maintenance programs and technical maintenance plans in a rail environment.
- Experience coordinating track possessions, shutdowns and major maintenance works.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, planning and leadership skills.
- Current Open C Class Driver Licence.
- SARC (Safely Access the Rail Corridor) qualification, or the ability to obtain.

Desirable Qualifications

- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Rail Infrastructure, Civil Engineering, Asset Management or a related discipline.
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent.
