Senior Bookkeeper / Finance Manager

Cell Media is a profitable Perth-based learning technology company that designs and develops high-quality digital learning solutions for some of Australia's largest mining, resources and industrial organisations.

Working with blue-chip clients across Australia and internationally, we're entering an exciting phase of growth and business optimisation.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / Finance Manager who wants genuine ownership of an SME finance function and enjoys using technology, systems and commercial thinking to improve how a business operates.

This isn't a traditional bookkeeping role.

You'll work closely with the Managing Director to help improve profitability, strengthen cash flow, modernise finance systems and contribute to key business decisions.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, end-to-end finance role supporting a growing multi-entity business with:

- 25+ employees

- Australian and Singapore operations

- Project-based revenue and long-term contracts

- Blue-chip corporate clients

- Modern cloud-based finance systems

Approximately 80% of your work will support our Australian business, with the remaining 20% supporting our Singapore operations.

You'll own the day-to-day finance function while working closely with the Managing Director to improve commercial performance and operational efficiency.

An external accountant manages statutory compliance and year-end reporting, allowing you to focus on running an effective, commercially minded finance function.

What You'll Be Doing

Finance Operations

- End-to-end bookkeeping in Xero

- Accounts payable and receivable

- Bank,



credit card and loan reconciliations

- Payroll processing (Australia and Singapore)

- Superannuation, PAYG, CPF and statutory payments

- Month-end processing

- Management reporting

Commercial Finance

- Cash flow forecasting

- Budget versus actual reporting

- Margin analysis

- Debt reconciliation

- Supplier management and contract reviews

- Cost control initiatives

- Business performance reporting

- Supporting strategic commercial decisions

Systems & Process Improvement

- Improving finance workflows

- Building scalable systems and SOPs

- Introducing smarter reporting and forecasting tools

- Automating repetitive processes where practical

- Supporting technology-driven business improvements

Singapore Operations

You'll also support our Singapore business through:

- Monthly payroll

- CPF and SDL processing

- Foreign currency reconciliations

- Accounts receivable and payable

Full training will be provided for our Singapore operations.

You are not expected to have prior Singapore payroll experience.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys ownership and takes pride in building efficient finance processes.

You'll likely have experience as a:

- Senior Bookkeeper

- Finance Manager

- Senior Finance Officer

- Assistant Accountant (SME)

You'll ideally bring:

- Strong hands-on Xero experience

- End-to-end bookkeeping experience

- Payroll experience

- BAS and IAS preparation

- Management reporting experience

- Excellent reconciliation skills





- Strong Microsoft Excel skills

- A naturally analytical mindset

- High attention to detail

- Confidence working independently

Experience with MYOB is advantageous but not essential.

Most importantly, you're someone who enjoys improving systems, embraces technology and wants to make a genuine contribution to the success of a growing business.

A Certificate IV or Diploma in Bookkeeping or Accounting would be highly regarded, however relevant experience is more important than formal qualifications.
